Introducing fair norms and complying to them are, for Othon, pivotal procedures for achieving a sustainable future, which he pursues through his academic and professional paths.
Othon holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in International and European Studies from the Department of Political Science and Public Administration of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Currently, he is a PhD Candidate at the same university, under the UNESCO Chair on Climate Diplomacy, studying the impact of the EU climate change policy on the public climate and energy policies of the ENP countries.
Before joining the Greek Tank in 2021, he had worked for the National Centre for Social Research and the Institute of European Integration and Policy (IEIP), researching on sustainable development, the development and effectiveness of environmental policies and practices, with emphasis on the climate and energy policies, as well as the shaping of attitudes and perceptions of climate change.
By working for educational programmes of IEIP and institutions like the Hellenic Ministry of Education and ELIAMEP, he has gained experience in sustainability, climate neutrality, just transition and cultural heritage protection from climate change issues, as well as the role of education in these processes. Lastly, he was worked on EU-funded vocational education and training projects in the agrifood sector.
