Ioli Christopoulou comments on the significance of the decision taken by the Ministry of Environment and Energy rejecting the installation of wind turbines on 14 islets in the Aegean Sea in Natura 2000 areas.
Specifically she mentions that the Ministry should have rejected the request for licensing the project because of the previous negative opinion by the authority responsible for the environment under the procedure of appropriate assessment. This opinion should be binding as it proved at last.
