Objective: The aim of Learn-Participate-Protect the Environment was to empower citizens, especially young people, students and volunteers, enhancing their participation in public debates and decision-making on critical environmental issues. The project focused on three topics: climate crisis, biodiversity loss and plastic pollution. Introductory webinars and training seminars were held on these topics in different cities in Greece, together with other documentation and advocacy actions.
Our contribution: As a project partner, The Green Tank contributed to the implementation of webinars and training seminars on climate crisis and biodiversity loss, citizen advocacy and means of intervention, as well as the role of Media and communication. Gathering data on the functioning of OpenGov and young people’s opinion on public consultations, the organization produced a report resulting in documented policy recommendations to improve public consultations in the country and enhance citizen participation in them.
