Industrial Policy Associate

Aligning industrial development with environmental and social goals is crucial for a truly sustainable future. Industry is both a source of environmental pressures and a driver of innovation, capable of transforming production systems towards climate neutrality and resource efficiency.

Stavros holds a Dipl. Ing. degree in Production Engineering and Management from the Technical University of Crete and an M.Sc. in Industrial Management and Technology, with a specialization in Energy and Environmental Management, from the University of Piraeus. He is currently a PhD candidate in the Department of Industrial Management and Technology at the University of Piraeus, where he focuses on developing a sustainability assessment framework for industrial enterprises.​

He has worked as an associate research engineer at the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH), contributing to several EU‑funded projects on energy systems, industrial decarbonisation, and sustainability assessment. His research and professional interests include the economic and environmental performance evaluation of energy systems and renewable energy technologies from a life cycle perspective, as well as the conceptualisation and practical application of sustainability in enterprises, processes, and energy systems.​

He joined The Green Tank in December 2025 as an Industrial Policy Associate, aiming to support the sustainable transition of industry towards environmentally responsible and socially just operations.
