The Green Tank, as a member of the Monitoring Committee with voting rights, approved all four specialization issues of the 9th written procedure of the Just Development Transition Program (PDAM) 2021-2027.
More specifically, the Special Service for Just Development Transition (EYDAM) proposes the mobilization of resources totaling €50.601 million for the financing of:
- “Green and smart cities” in Amyntaio and Megalopolis, through interventions that integrate information technologies, energy efficiency and sustainable mobility (€28.196 million). The program aims to install 10.75 MW of RES and 6 electric vehicle recharging points, to strengthen 2 energy communities and to energy upgrade 20,200 square meters of public buildings.
- “Living labs” in Western Macedonia and Megalopolis to create an open innovation ecosystem through the cooperation of public, private, academic and social actors, where end users actively participate in the co-creation, experimentation and evaluation of new technologies, services, products or policies in real environments (€14 million). The program aims to support a total of 175 enterprises, of which 88 are new and 44 are small and medium-sized (SMEs) that introduce product or process innovations.
- “Industrial and applied research through the preparation of industrial doctorates” with the aim of strengthening the interconnection and cooperation of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) with the private economy (€4.905 million). The program aims to interconnect 28 enterprises with 7 HEIs and create 82 research jobs in all transition regions.
- “Technical assistance” to strengthen the operation of the Strategic Planning & Funding Coordination Directorate of EYDAM (€3.5 million).
Together with the above programs, from the start of PDAM in October 2022 to July 2025, resources amounting to €1.117 billion have been specialized, i.e. 68.6% of the total available resources (€1.629 billion). In addition, calls have been issued for actions with a slightly larger budget than that of the specializations (€1.121 billion), while actions amounting to €795 million have been included in PDAM.
