The Green Tank approved the amendment to the financing program for energy communities, first published in September 2023. However, the organization sent its comments and recommendations to the Special Service for Just Development Transition (EYDAM).
Despite its delay, the ministerial decision is considered positive on several points in terms of supporting self-production in Greece.
The Green Tank participated in the Call for Evidence by the European Commission on the EU environmental law – 2025 implementation review.
Participation of LIFE MareNatura in the consultation on the South Aegean Special Environmental Study
The LIFE MareNatura project partners and the project’s expert policy partner, The Green Tank, submitted their views to the consultation on the Special Environmental Study “EPM 8b: Natura 2000 Areas of the Regional Units of South Aegean – Dodecanese (parts) and Cyclades (2nd Group of Areas)”.
The Green Tank submitted comments and raised crucial questions in the public consultation of the Strategic Environmental Impact Assessments of the Special Urban Plans for the three main territories of Greece’s Decarbonization Zones (Ptolemaida, Amyndeon and Megalopolis).
The draft law of the Ministry of Environment and Energy (MEEN) was put out for public consultation between 6 – 15 April 2024 and is titled “Regulations to address the multi-level impacts of climate change in the areas of: a) water management, b) forest management and protection, c) urban resilience and policy, d) combating unauthorized construction, e) energy security”.
The Green Tank voted positively in the 6th Written Procedure of the Monitoring Committee of Greece’s Just Development Transition Program, regarding the Green HiPo project, a part of an Important Project of Common European Interest (IPCEI) in the field of the value chain of hydrogen technologies.
The Green Tank for the support of the programs for SMEs and large enterprises in the lignite regions
The Green Tank voted positively on four new actions to strengthen entrepreneurship in the lignite regions of the country that were specialized by the Administrative Authority of the Just Development Transition Program, submitting also comments and recommendations
Ioanna Theodosiou and Nikos Mantzaris from the Green Tank participated in the second annual meeting of the Monitoring Committee held in Ptolemaida, where they had the opportunity to exchange views on the implementation process with members of the Special Service for Just Development of Transition (EYDAM), the European Commission as well as other members of the Monitoring Committee.
