Nikos Mantzaris shared his views on the evolution of Greece’s Just Transition Development Program, in an article by Machie Tratsa published in the Financial Post (Oikonomikos Taxydromos), which presents the Program’s structure and allocation of funds for the period 2021-2027.
Specifically, Nikos Mantzaris notes the progress made in the updated draft regarding the inclusion of energy communities as eligible for funding as well as the increase in the allocation of funds for energy savings projects. At the same time, he notes that the documentation for the allocation of funding is missing. A big part of the funding is directed towards supporting entrepreneurship, in juxtaposition to energy transition or circular economy objectives, without however, any mention of whether this support will be directed to the green transformation of local businesses.
