Request for closure of lignite power plant Amyndeo
A request towards the Greek Ministry of Environment and Energy to shut down lignite power plant Amyndeo was submitted today by the Green Tank and ClientEarth, an organization of environmental lawyers.
Joint NGO letter addressed to the “Coal Regions in Transition” EC Platform
On February 19, 2019, the Green Tank together with the European NGO networks Europe Beyond Coal, Climate Action Network, CEE Bankwatch, the Polish Green Network, the Hungarian Friends of the Earth, Greenpeace and WWF co-signed a letter addressed to the chair of the "Coal Regions in Transition" EC Platform, aiming to improve the just transition process.
Joint letters on the need to call off the Greek lignite sale
On January 24, 2019, the Green Tank together with European NGO networks European Beyond Coal, Climate Action Network and Client Earth sent two letters, one to Commissioners Cañete και Šefčovič and a separate one to Commission Vestager in which they argue for the urgent need to cancel the Greek PPC lignite sale.
