Climate change is one of the greatest global challenges of the 21st century. Human-caused greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuel energy production systems, animal herding, and the loss of forests and other natural carbon dioxide sinks lead to global temperature rise and instability in the global climate.
As scientists showed in the most recent report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), there is no time to lose. Urgent action is needed if we want to keep the global temperature rise to 1.5 οC compared to prο-industrial levels and to meet the commitments agreed upon in the 2015 Paris Agreement.
The Green Tank works in Greece and Europe for the socially just transformation of the energy model, the phase out of fossil fuels and the shift to renewable energy, energy efficiency and energy savings, while also promoting nature-based solutions.
