The Green Tank submitted its comments to the public consultation on the new bill of the Ministry of Development and Investment, titled “Development Law- Greece Strong Development”, on November 17, 2021.
The comments, which are accompanied by specific recommendations, focus mainly on Just Transition and energy communities. Specifically, they focus on the need to include energy communities in the beneficiaries of the state aid and the special schemes, while highlighting the fact that it is not clarified in the provisions of the bill how the existing problems of absorption of state aid by the energy communities will be overcome in order to enhance their development. Also, there are no available public financial instruments for the local authorities (Municipalities, Regions) that operate or even participate in energy communities.
